It is a fully democratic body, governed by the elected
Officers and the elected General Committee. |
How does it operate? |
Much of its day-to-day activity is through the three Areas – Midlands, North and South
– the Counties and the Clubs. |

They

Does it organise races? |
It organises National Road Championships
for Seniors and
Young Athletes and also stages the Inter-Counties Championship and an
Inter-Area Match. |
What about Internationals? |
It is responsible for England teams in International Matches
and Championships. |

What of the future? |
It places great emphasis on Development and is working with
the English Schools Athletic Association
on a joint scheme. For Young Athletes there is a year-long Grand Prix
and a representative team of walkers in the Under 13, Under 15 and
Under 17 age groups goes to Dublin each year to compete against the
young Irish walkers for the Nihill Shield and entertains the Irish
walkers to a return match in England. |
